It has been quite a while since I went out for a walkabout. I’ve been doing workout for the past two weeks and decided that today will be my rest day. As such – I didn’t want to go to the gym nor go for a run as I need to rest my body before the next week start. Therefore I decided to bring out the camera, and shoot.
Inspiration is rather very thin nowadays, perhaps due to my addiction to television and too many hobbies. Whilst surfing for inspiration then I saw a friend of my posted some photos on Klang. He is a new-ish red dot fellow addict (lol).
This morning I woke up at 6am, and immediately did a quick research on where to park, where to shoot etc etc. After getting my ass over to Klang about 8am, then I saw few other photographers from PSPJ. Quick stalk on facebook showed that they went for a sunrise shoot. Perhaps this will go into my to do list. Need to bring another set of gear for this.
Anyway – following are my photos from this morning. Quick process and be gone!
It was one of the days when I decided to go out and do a street shooting walkabout in KL during Deepavali holiday. Yesterday – a friend of mine messaged to our Leica group and asked if anybody wanted to do a shoot. I responded yes. It has been ages since the last time I went out shooting but I guess its a good time.
The weather was pretty good, but as I am not as daring as before and also a lot more picky with my shots, there’s not many photos that I took this morning. I parked my car near YMCA and then had my kopi C kosong before we start our walkabout. We went to two temples around Brickfields, but it seems that the crowd was pretty stale. And the bigger temple does not allow photographers to shoot any photos inside the temple.
We then decided to walk to Petaling Street area. There were two temples around there, one behind the Petaling Street and the other nearer to Pudu Raya.
Following are the two shots that I have – considered worthy!
Photo taken along the street. Just to show how good is the dynamic range of my phone!
Picture of a family selling flowers for people giving offering to the temple!
360 image showing a man giving out angpows outside the temple.
A lady doing sketching just outside the temple!
The homeless waiting outside the temple in an organized way waiting for somebody to donate money to them!
Today is the day that I am going Arashimaya. Arashimaya is a western district of Kyoto. It is a major touristy site! Going there just for the check box exercise.
In order to go there from where I stayed, I need to take a local train from Kyoto Station. It is a 15 mins ride. As I have a JR Rail Pass, I just need to show the conductor my pass and here I go! The track is track 31-33 at the JR West Gate.
The train to Arashiyama
The train will take you to Saga-Arashiyama Station. Do note that there are two types of train, one will take you direct to this station from Kyoto, while the other will take you thru most of the stop. To me it does not matter as I am not rushing for time. It took me less than 30 mins to get to Arashiyama.
Once you get to Arashiyama Station, you will need to walk about 10 mins to get to the Main Street of Arashiyama. Here you can make a decision on whether to go to the Bamboo Forest or you can Tenryuji Temple.
