It’s one of those weekend – that I am trying to sketch again. The thing about sketching is that – I must continue to sketch, not about practice but about getting the experience to be able to discover the style!
By getting more experience – I would be able to look at what I am good at, what I am bad at, and in the next sketch is for me to improve. Every sketch is masterpiece – for good or for bad 🙂
Shitty Perspective
The sketch I did today is another try at sketching the same thing. My problem is of course is how to I view perspective. The converging lines is just so difficult for me to translate into my sketches. If you look at the sketch below – despite using guides, I am still shit at that.
Fine – time to do some research and learn how to do converging verticals. Not so easy – but i guess with more experience I would be able to handle it better.
To detail or not to detail
I don’t have a lot of patience, but I do like details. It’s fun to draw details – especially playing with different pens. But when I get bored, I will just screw the whole sketch up. I guess it’s about getting the balance and planning myself ahead. Like for the sketch today – it was just a spur of the moment. Spent less than 30 mins to come out with the sketch. Ha ha.
Colors
Okay – I am just shit at this. I don’t even know how to use water colours, don’t know how to mix. Amazing that I am able to come out with something. I kinda got the hang of it. I guess in more sketches – I would be able to discover the colours and style that I like.
Summary
I need to continue to focus on building my skills. Sketch more… and I’ll get better 🙂
