It has been awhile

Since I last posted anything on this blog. Been extremely busy since I last wrote. I’ve got to new to catch up too especially with my trip to Japan! I need to find time to go and write!

I guess today I am going to write about the new shoe that I bought last week. I’ve been using the same shoe for the past 1 year. Yes – just on year.

If you look at the top, you can see my existing shoe to look like shit. I must say, it has gone thru hell and back. Puddle of water, rain, long walks… Name it. It is super comfortable I must say. But it’s not something that I should wear to work, especially when putting it together with suits and tie.

The shoe was bought in P Lal store. Located at Jalan Gasing, it had operated for many many years. Originally on Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman. It’s ran by the Doshi brothers. Which I know one of them from the BMW club. Not that I get discount(no I am not expecting any).

After opening the packaging, there were some tips on how to upkeep the shoe so it last as long as it should. A friend of mine who owns two pairs of this shoe claims that he bought the shoe 20 years ago, and it’s still wearable until now. I guess there must be something that I am not doing right here.

Well, few of the tips that I can remember on top of my head:

  • Wax
  • Use shoe horn
  • Dry up for 24 hours after a day use.

The third point is interesting. This is something that I just saw on the Internet, looking at that being put on the “user manual”, there must be truth! Apparently our feet sweat so much, that when it comes to leather shoe, need to dry the sweat out for minimum 24 hours so that the leather can last longer. What this means is that… I need to buy another shoe! Omg.

The shoe is not so amazingly expensive – but it’s still money. I have spent more money on shoe before. It’s still below RM1000.

Honestly – the shoe is comfortable. I guess the size is right for me. Still getting used to it but I must say I love the design. Traditional 🙂
