I first started my career back in 1999, working mainly in the telco space. I was part of a multinational consulting firm that has a small presence in Malaysia(that was back then).
My first real project as an analyst was to do billing system for one of the ISP in Malaysia. It was not an easy task. Being new to the firm, and not having any experience building a billing system, I was tasked handle the front end interface for the system. Back in university, I wasn’t the best programmer but I guess when push comes to shove, I needed to step up my game and do what needs to be done to get things done.
I must say the project was tough, but it was made easier with a great team. We slogged our way thru for almost 24 months, and finally managed to get it deployed. That project had then subsequent releases that kept the team together for few more years.
Earlier this week we met up for a dinner reunion. Most of us are based on Malaysia, but each of us doing our own things, it was hard to get everybody together. Hopefully this will be a start for more get together.
