Reading

During my last trip to Japan, I noticed that many people there enjoy reading. You’ll often see people reading while waiting for something, like a train or a shop to open. I used to read a lot too, mostly from books I bought at school. It was fun to imagine different worlds, but after a while, I lost interest. I stopped reading fiction and focused more on practical things like science and engineering.

I guess I’m more of a logical thinker than a creative one. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve found that logic has been helpful in my career. But I still wish I had more creativity. So, I’m trying to build it up as I age. Writing a blog is one way I’m trying to improve my writing skills. It’s not the most important thing, but I thought it was worth doing.

Back in the day, I used to write on paper, but I wasn’t very good at it. There’s a saying in Malay that goes, “Hangat hangat tahi ayam,” which means, “Do things in short bursts, and when the interest dies down, you just forget about them.”
