Abu Dhabi Trip – Travel Journal Part #1 (Day 1 and Day 2)

Day 1 – leaving for Abu Dhabi

I decided to take a train to the airport as I am just a single traveller. I am used to this – just thinking of saving some dough for some shopping in Abu Dhabi.

KLIA Express is definitely quite decent and fairly comfortable.

IMG_0410.jpg

Notice I am wearing a proper shirt(unlike my usual old t-shirt and shorts!) as I am flying using a staff voucher. Cheap ticket maa!

IMG_0413.jpg

Looking at some fire roads – perhaps some off road trails for the bike? Possibly. But could be private property. Not so easy to gain permission. And plus these palm estates are where people dump dead bodies!!!

IMG_0415.jpg

Ah! My boarding pass. Seated at 9K in the business class.

IMG_0416.jpg

The plane is quite old, but its comfortable.

Finally arrive at Abu Dhabi … after almost 6 hours of flying.

IMG_0422.jpg

Abu Dhabi airport – pretty empty. Apparently the airport is more used for transit.

My sis picked me up together with my dad. And brought me straight home. Was too tired to do anything else … so I just dozed offf.

Day 2

IMG_0424.jpg

View from outside the window from my balcony in my sis place. Geeze, it’s all desert. Honestly, this is my first time in middle east!

IMG_0425.jpg

See – foggy dessert. The temperature is approximately 19 degrees i think!

IMG_0427.jpg

First order of the day! Run in the gym. How can we not do this! After that – I had simple breakfast at home and head over to Heritage Village!

IMG_0449.jpg

Me on a swing. My dad said i look stressed! Thinking that the swing will break. Heritage Village is a tourist area in Abu Dhabi, somewhere near Marina Mall that showcases old Abu Dhabi. The original houses that was in Abu Dhabi prior to the oil discovery. This was just 30 years ago!!

IMG_0450.jpg

While waiting for me and my dad – my mum did some henna.

IMG_0452.jpg

Collection of old ships (models of course).

IMG_0454.jpg

Can’t imagine staying in one of this houses! And in the desert man!!!!

IMG_0455.jpg

These is the daggers and swords cabin. Nobody was there to entertain me!

IMG_0484.jpg

Nice…

IMG_0457.jpg

I think these are the equipment that are use to make the daggers.

Next – first adventure…. Food…

IMG_0460.jpg

Not sure what that is! It taste decent…

IMG_0461.jpg

Samosa.. how different can that be right?

IMG_0462.jpg

Our stash. Something me and my sister shared…

IMG_0465.jpg

My dad couldn’t resist to eat some…

Food adventure 2! Lamb Mandy and mina Modern cuisine!

IMG_0467.jpg

While waiting for the food, enjoy few cups of free coffee. I think its nescafe. I might be wrong!

IMG_0468.jpg

Menu for the day… (or at least what’s available there!)

IMG_0469.jpg

We ordered one lamb mandy and chicken. And some prawn thingy cooked in oyster sauce (yummy though!)

IMG_0471.jpg

The soup was awesome… It should come free with the food.

IMG_0472.jpg

Some “grass” as appetizer.

IMG_0474.jpg

Prawn dish! Nice… Why people in Malaysia cook this way!!

IMG_0477.jpg

The food that I am craving for!!! Lamb Mandy!! and guess what…. 4 people…

  IMG_0478.jpg

All gone!!! I think i finished most of it!!

IMG_0480.jpg

To show the sense of scale, that’s all what’s left of the food. The lamb mandy dish is huge isn’t it??

IMG_0481.jpg

More coffee to fight the sleepiness of the rice….. zzzzz

I think at this stage, I was too full to do anything else…. seriously…. way too full…………….. Continue on Day 3 – Desert Safari tomorrow (or later maybe!)
